The American Lung Association is asking Congress to fund the Food and Drug Administration’s anti-tobacco efforts. The association has released its 2025 State of Tobacco Control report, which grades how well states prevent and reduce tobacco use. Virginia receiving an “F”. The scale based on factors including state tobacco related revenue, settlements, and smokefree air grading charts. The report urged Congress to fund the FDA’s efforts to remove illegal e-cigarettes from the market. It also emphasized the importance of states licensing tobacco retailers and funding prevention efforts.
