A two-vehicle crash that happened recently on U.S. Route 17 north of Saluda sent two people to the hospital. Virginia State Police say a 2015 UPS Freightliner pulled in front of a 2026 Chevrolet Suburban at Route 615, injuring the Suburban’s driver, 76 year old Katherine Vail Ratlif, who was airlifted, and her 71 year old passenger, Miles Randolph Ratlif, who was taken by ambulance. UPS driver 33 year old Mark Eben Rhodes was issued a summons for failure to yield.
