The TriWay Trail Board and Lancaster County officials announced the trail has been awarded a $100,000 Chesapeake Gateways Grant from the National Park Service. The funding will support planning and engineering to extend the 10-mile multimodal trail connecting Kilmarnock, Irvington, and White Stone. Phase I is already open to the public, with much of the land donated by local businesses. Officials say the grant will accelerate completion, promote tourism, boost local businesses, and provide safe, scenic pathways for residents of all ages.
