A Tappahannock man has been sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty to distributing a Schedule I or II controlled substance. The conviction stems from a June 2024 cocaine sale monitored by the Chesapeake Bay Narcotics Task Force. 29 year old Ranaz Tremaine Newbill will serve supervised probation for up to five years after release, with conditions including warrantless searches. In exchange for his plea, a charge of distribution near a school was dropped.
