Study: Mathews County Salaries Low

A recent employee compensation study revealed that Mathews County salaries are significantly lower than those of nearby localities. Conducted by the Management Advisory Group, the report shows that local salaries lag by 20 to 30 percent, especially for key positions like animal control officer and facility manager. To bring salaries in line with regional standards, the county would need an additional $213,000. Supervisors are currently reviewing the findings to try to figure out where that money might come from.
