The Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department’s annual Spring Mud Bog brought out hundreds of spectators May 31 in Lively. The Rappahannock Record reports that around 25 vehicles powered through the mud pit in a fundraiser the department called a “resounding success.” Money raised from ticket sales, entry fees and sponsorships will go toward buying new equipment. Organizers credited strong community support and local business contributions for making it happen. The next mud bog is set for October 18.
