A large fire broke out at Middlesex Metals in Urbanna early Sunday, sending flames roughly 30 feet into the air. The blaze involved a pyramid-shaped scrap metal pile, about as wide as two houses. Seven area departments, including units from Gloucester, White Stone, and Essex, responded, along with the Middlesex County Volunteer Rescue Squad. Firefighters contained the fire to a single pile with no injuries, structural damage, or equipment loss. The cause remains under investigation.
