School Board Weighs Pay Raises, Bonuses In Proposed Budget

The Lancaster school board is considering changes to employee pay as part of a proposed budget for the 2026–27 fiscal year. The plan includes at least a two percent raise for non-exempt staff, higher pay for licensed employees, longevity bonuses, and coverage of an expected 20 percent jump in health insurance costs. Board members were presented with options that would raise starting teacher pay to between just under fifty-two thousand and just over fifty-two thousand dollars, with a final decision still ahead.
