Rappahannock General Hospital officials say the facility remains strong and is not at risk of closing while continuing major investments in technology and services. Hospital administrators highlighted $3.2 million in renovations, a new outpatient infusion center, and a $1.8 million CT scanner upgrade, improving care for stroke patients and others.
Officials stressed that most patients are treated locally, with only a small number needing transfers, and new programs like Project Voyager use AI to streamline medical documentation. RGH also plans a $10 million geothermal upgrade, making it the first in Virginia and the Bon Secours system. Hospital leaders say community support and matching funds from Bon Secours ensure the hospital will remain a vital part of the region.
