Potential Law Takes Aim At Invasive Species

Virginia lawmakers have sent revamped bills to the governor aimed at tackling invasive plant species. The measures, which passed with bipartisan support, focus on educating consumers through signage at stores to highlight the environmental damage caused by 39 specific invasive plants. This is the second attempt after a veto last year. The revised bills remove fines for businesses and propose a stop-sale order instead. The governor has until March 24 to act on the legislation.
