One week until Election Day, and early voting turnout trails slightly from the last gubernatorial election year in 2021. Through Sunday, just over 971 thousand ballots have been cast. At the same point 4 years ago, nearly 1.2 million had voted either by mail or in-person, likely due to lingering concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic. Right around 12,000 have voted in the Middle Neck, led by Gloucester County’s nearly 5,000, followed by 2,600 in Northumberland, 2,100 in Mathews, 1,600 in Essex, and 730 in King and Queen County. Early voting continues through Saturday.
