Northumberland School Board Ousts Superintendent Wargo In Split Vote

The Northumberland County School Board voted 3-2 to remove Superintendent Dr. Holly Wargo without cause, effective immediately. The decision came May 8 following a closed session. The Rappahannock Record reports that Board member Dr. David Curran said the move was a step toward helping the board “move forward” after a turbulent year and financial disarray. Wargo had served nine years. No timeline for naming a replacement was announced.
