The Middlesex County Board of Supervisors recently heard an update on plans for a solar farm at Stormont. Dominion Energy met with county officials to outline team roles and required paperwork for the project, which would use portions of the old county landfill and Thacker Farm property. Dominion Energy has offered a 25-year lease totaling nearly $2 million, with annual payments escalating 2 percent. Supervisors said revenue from the lease could help offset costs tied to the landfill’s ongoing closure and groundwater monitoring under the state DEQ program.
