Middlesex County supervisors have voted to move forward with a real estate reassessment contract, with final approval expected in August. Cowan Services LLC submitted the low bid at just under $311,000 to reassess more than 12,000 parcels. The county had budgeted $200,000 but favored Cowan’s bid, which came in nearly $70,000 lower than a competing offer. Officials say a switch to more frequent “desk assessments” may follow to better track rising property values.
