Lancaster Unveils Proposed $53 POINT 4 Million Budget

County leaders in Lancaster are reviewing a proposed $53 POINT 4 million budget for the upcoming fiscal year, with no changes to current tax rates. The plan includes three percent raises for county employees and accounts for a seven percent increase in health insurance costs. Officials say revenues are expected to rise nearly four percent, helped in part by a solar project agreement, but spending is projected to grow even faster due to higher debt payments tied to school construction and capital projects. That gap could push the county’s reserve balance below its long-standing target, raising concerns about long-term financial stability. Supervisors are set to continue budget discussions later this month.

Ed was also among a select group of industry professionals invited by Google to its California headquarters following the company’s acquisition of Scott Studios. He was one of just 12 broadcasters nationwide chosen to participate in discussions and provide input during the design and rollout of Google’s digital broadcast automation platform. Although the majority of Ed’s career—spanning roughly four decades—was rooted in music radio, he transitioned into news and information programming in 2012. He says the move into spoken-word broadcasting was a natural evolution after decades of experience in multiple areas of the industry.
