Lancaster Schools Receive Conditional Accreditation

The Virginia Department of Education has conditionally accredited Lancaster Elementary and Lancaster High School for the 2024-25 school year. Accreditation was based on compliance with 10 standards, including teaching, qualified staff, and safety policies, while both schools were also identified for Targeted Support and Improvement due to special education performance. Lancaster Elementary scored 76.8 out of 100 and Lancaster High scored 81.9, but the TSI designation lowered their performance categories. Superintendent Jessica Davis has appealed the conditional accreditation, citing emergency procedure documentation issues. Schools are implementing tutoring, parent incentives, and truancy measures to improve outcomes.
