Lancaster Adopts $50.5 Million Budget With No Tax Hike

Lancaster County supervisors approved a $50.5 million budget for fiscal year 2025-26 without raising taxes. The unanimous vote keeps real estate and personal property tax rates unchanged. Spending is up 2.7%, with $20.2 million going to school operations. Supervisors also approved a $46.1 million capital improvement plan, including $15 million in added costs for a new high school. The county will borrow $10 million through the Virginia Resources Authority for other projects, locking in a 30-year term to minimize annual payments.
