At its first meeting of the year, the Kilmarnock Town Council appointed a new vice mayor, with Rebecca Nunn taking over the role after a 3-2 vote. The council also welcomed new member Matt Cunningham and appointed Alice Cooper as the planning commission liaison. Updates were made to regulations at Town Centre Park, restricting dogs in certain areas and limiting the number per handler. The town also made progress in hiring a wastewater treatment operator and plans to add two more police officers.
