Kilmarnock Museum hosts KVFD carnival exhibit for 90th anniversary

The Kilmarnock Museum is hosting an exhibit, but only through the end of this month, celebrating 90 years of the Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department Firemen’s Festival. The carnival began in 1935 on Main Street with prizes like cars and war bonds during WWII. It later moved to its current location at 205 Waverly Avenue. The exhibit features historical trivia, including unique prizes and carnival traditions. The museum is open for this final week, but only through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with donations welcome.
