Drivers in one part of Virginia got an unexpected wildlife safari Saturday morning when an escaped kangaroo shut down a roadway and briefly became the most mobile resident in town. The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office says deputies found the roo injured but cooperative, guided it off the highway onto private property, then reunited it with its owner with help from conservation police. The animal is back home, expected to make a full recovery, and officials say traffic is once again reserved for cars — not kangaroos.
