State officials say a jet fuel spill into the James River has been fully contained and cleaned up following several days of response efforts. Huntington Ingalls Industries reported the spill was smaller than first feared, according to the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality. The spill happened February 17, with residents raising concerns about being notified more than two days later. Authorities say steps are being taken to prevent a repeat and that no ongoing environmental threat remains.
