A Defense & Aerospace manufacturer broke ground Friday on its first U.S. missile factory in James City County. The 150,000-square-foot plant will manufacture two types of cruise missiles for the U.S. military and is expected to employ at least 180 people. The project, backed by over $2 million in state grants, is part of a larger $100 million investment in the industrial park where it is located. Officials say the facility strengthens domestic manufacturing, supports NATO allies, and boosts the local economy.
