The Gloucester County School Board voted unanimously to launch a before- and after-school care program in partnership with the YMCA of the Virginia Peninsulas. Gloucester County Public Schools officials say the program will address limited childcare options and keep children engaged in enrichment activities without screens. The YMCA, chosen from four proposals, will contribute up to $43,500 annually to help cover costs while supporting students and families across the district.
