The Gloucester County School Board met Wednesday to review proposed programs for middle and high school students and discuss employee compensation. Plans include career investigations for sixth graders, advanced science courses for sixth and seventh graders, Criminal Justice II for upperclassmen, and Techniques of Dance for performing arts students. Driver’s education could move to 10th grade, and an AP African-American Studies course may be added. According to Human Resources, teacher pay is competitive regionally, with clear salary lanes for bachelor’s and master’s degrees. The board will however, explore strategic salary adjustments and retention initiatives moving forward.
