Gloucester School Board Approves $83.5 Million Budget

The Gloucester County School Board has approved an $83.5 million budget for Fiscal Year 2026, including new investments in textbooks and student devices. The budget also features increased funding for mental health and school safety. Fred Brewer was appointed interim board member, filling the seat left vacant by Deborah McDonough. Brewer, a former Hampton City School Board member, will serve through December 31. The board’s next challenge is navigating state funding, which may change following the General Assembly’s reconvening.
