Gloucester Planners Recommend Denial of Fox Centre Parkway Rezoning

The Gloucester County Planning Commission voted 4-1-1 to recommend denial of a rezoning request for 130.8 acres along Fox Centre Parkway that would have allowed 427 residential units. The proposed development included townhouses, single-family homes, a clubhouse, pool, parks, and trail networks. Residents raised concerns over increased traffic, strain on fire and rescue services, and impacts on the county’s rural character. Planners cited uncertainty over water system capacity and potential infrastructure challenges as reasons for recommending denial, while one commissioner opposed the recommendation and another abstained.
