All post offices, courts, county offices, and DMV centers in Gloucester and Mathews will be closed today in observance of Columbus Day. Gloucester schools will remain open, while Mathews schools will close for a teacher workday. Libraries in both counties will be closed. Waste facilities in Gloucester will operate normally, but the Mathews Transfer Station and other sites will close for employee training. ABC stores in both counties will remain open during regular hours.
