The Friends of Dragon Run will host a Winter Walk in the Woods from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, January 25 at their Big Island Complex. Nature guides and volunteers will lead hikers through the forest, pointing out plants, lichens, fungi, and local wildlife, including birds in the canopy and undergrowth. Participants will enjoy views of Dragon Run, feeder streams, and bald cypress trees. The walk concludes with snacks and social time. Registration is required at http://www.dragonrun.org with a minimum fee of $30, and a scavenger hunt will be included for children.
