Dr. Marvin Jones is now leading Essex County Public Schools, bringing 33 years of experience to his new role as superintendent. Jones, who started July 1, says he’s focused on building relationships and boosting enrollment ahead of the August 11 school year start. A former chief of schools in Maryland, Jones says teacher recruitment, financial transparency, and rebranding the district are top priorities. He calls Essex a place with great potential and says his goal is to move the needle for students.
