BIG CHANGES COMING WITH GLOUCESTER BUDGET

Gloucester County Administrator Carol Steele has proposed an $88 million budget for fiscal year 2026, which includes a 4.3-cent tax increase. The budget allocates funds for a 3% cost-of-living raise for employees, a new position for the sheriff’s office, and a 12.5% hike in health insurance costs. The proposal also addresses funding for schools, fire and rescue services, and capital improvements. A budget work session was held on Friday, and a town hall will be held this Wednesday for public input.
