A one-two punch of low pressure systems this week will bring gusty winds, coastal flooding and some much needed rainfall. Strong northeast winds from the first low pressure system passing to the south and east will produce wind gusts of up to 30 mph today. A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect for the entire listening area, with minor flooding of up to 1 foot above ground level expected along the Bay, rivers and creeks. After a brief lull Wednesday, the second low moves through on Thursday, and water level rises of up to 2 feet are possible north of Windmill Point and along the Rappahannock and Potomac, and 1 foot soutn. Total rainfall is expected to top an inch and a half this week, but with the dry conditions should not bring flash flooding concerns.
