ANOTHER LOOK AT BODY CAMS IN MIDDLESEX

The Middlesex County Board of Supervisors is reconsidering the purchase of body cameras for deputies due to the high costs involved. Sheriff David Bushey outlined the need for two additional positions, totaling $208,000, to manage the cameras. While the county faces a March 31 deadline to secure a $20,000 grant for the purchase, some board members feel the cost outweighs the benefit. The board has postponed the decision and will revisit the matter in a special budget session that is set for tomorrow.
