On-time delivery continues to be a problem with the US Postal Service, and the problem is more severe here in Virginia than in most of the rest of the country. Now a glimmer of hope though… President-elect Trump is considering privatizing the U.S. Postal Service, revisiting his first-term goal to address the agency’s financial struggles. The US Postal Service hasn’t been profitable since 2006, and it lost $9.5 billion in just this last fiscal year. Opponents of the privatization plan though, warn that it could jeopardize jobs and… believe it or not… the claim it could jeopardize mail reliability in rural areas… the same areas where the problem is already the most evident.
