Firefighters from all four Middlesex County departments responded to a house fire on Taylor Avenue in Urbanna. Crews say the blaze started in an upstairs bedroom of a wood-frame home built in 1902 and spread quickly due to the building’s balloon-style construction. No one was inside at the time, and firefighters were able to contain the fire within about an hour, preventing a total loss.
