State wildlife officials say recent bird deaths reported in Tappahannock were definitely not caused by avian influenza. Testing ruled out bird flu, easing concerns among residents after multiple dead birds were found in the area. Officials have not released a specific cause but say there is no immediate public health risk. Residents are still advised to avoid handling dead wildlife and report sightings to local authorities.
