Deltaville House Fire Claims One Life

The investigation continues after a body was recovered from a Deltaville home destroyed by fire Friday night on Paces Neck Road. The body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Richmond for an autopsy. Firefighters arrived to find flames from every window and a collapsed roof, and sprand into action to prevent the blaze from spreading. The fire was discovered late by a nearby resident, and multiple volunteer fire departments assisted in containment. Investigators say foul play is not suspected, and the cause may be linked to a wood stove or space heaters.
