Hampton Roads Health Systems Require Masks for Flu Symptoms

Hospitals in Hampton Roads are now requiring masks for anyone with flu-like symptoms as the region sees a surge in flu cases. Riverside and Sentara health systems say the rule applies to patients and visitors showing signs such as fever, cough, sore throat, fatigue, or vomiting. Masks will be provided on arrival, and patients must notify staff of their symptoms. Officials say one of the best ways to prevent the spread of the flu is to simply stay home when sick.
