Middlesex County Circuit Court recently resolved two high-profile rape cases. 46 year old Ricky Layne Jenkins of Saluda, was found guilty of rape following a Dec. 9-10 trial and remains held without bail, with sentencing set for Feb. 18th. In another case, 62 year old Wallace Oakley of Urbanna, entered an Alford plea to aggravated sexual battery after a hung jury and issues with victim testimony. Oakley received a 10-year sentence with more than eight years suspended, must register as a sex offender, and follow strict probation and treatment requirements.
