NNPDC Receives Funding for Northern Neck Tree Planting Project

The Northern Neck Planning District Commission has received funding from the Virginia Department of Forestry for a tree-planting project marking the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution. The “250 for 250” project will plant trees at sites including Stratford Hall, the Fones Cliffs Unit of the Rappahannock River Valley National Wildlife Refuge, Longwood University, and Lancaster High School. Friends of the Rappahannock and local partners, including Stella-Jones, will provide support and materials. The initiative aims to improve the region’s tree canopy and promote cleaner waterways.
