Rappahannock Wildlife Refuge Friends Named 2025 Refuge Friends Group of the Year

Rappahannock Wildlife Refuge Friends has been named 2025 Refuge Friends Group of the Year, recognizing outstanding volunteer service. Since 2009, the group has logged more than 65,500 volunteer hours at Rappahannock River Valley National Wildlife Refuge, which protects over 9,000 acres in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Their efforts support habitat restoration, wildlife conservation, and community education, benefiting species from bald eagles to migratory waterfowl, while providing clean water and outdoor recreation for surrounding communities.
