Lancaster Planning Commission Tables Vote on Solar Ordinance Changes

The Lancaster Planning Commission has postponed action on proposed amendments to the county’s residential solar ordinance until its September 18 meeting. The changes, which include renaming it “small-scale solar,” limiting ground-mounted systems to 2,500 square feet and 15 feet in height, and capping capacity at 25 kilowatts, aim to address concerns over existing residential solar installations. The commission is reviewing size, location, height, and noise impacts. Public comments on related Chesapeake Bay resiliency updates remain open through September 10.
