Middlesex Supervisors Set To Vote On Body Cameras Aug. 5

Middlesex County supervisors are expected to vote August 5 on funding body-worn cameras for the sheriff’s office. The county is one of only 15 in Virginia where deputies do not yet use them. A committee, backed by the commonwealth’s attorney and local NAACP leaders, has recommended approval. A vote was delayed in July to ensure all board members are present. The estimated annual cost tops $200,000, including hiring staff to review footage.
