Fear Mongers Scream That Thousands Of Virginians Could Lose Medicaid Coverage Under Proposed Federal Bill

A budget bill moving through the U.S. Senate would add work requirements to Medicaid, potentially stripping coverage from up to 200,000 Virginians… That’s the fear anyway from some state Democrats. The proposal, passed by House Republicans, targets adults aged 19 to 64, but only those who are able bodied and who don’t work at least 80 hours a month. The state’s Medicaid agency estimates it won’t have updated impact numbers until late 2025.
